WYS!: Timo Maas - WYS! x Trailer Trash Promo Mix

German techno producer Timo Maas has had extraordinary commercial success with his remix of Azzido Da Bass’ ‘Doom’s Night’ standing out alongside his solo production work. With an education honed through club residencies and high profile collaborations our WetYourSelf lynchpins, Cormac, Peter Pixzel and Jacob Husley are bringing Mass to their Easter Bank Holiday Special as he headlines the Trailer Trash Room where he’ll perform alongside Hannah Holland, Mikki Most and Ian Robinson. Ahead of the date Mass put together a promo mix and quickly caught up with WYS. Download: Timo Maas – WYS! vs. Trailer Trash Promo Mix (tracklist after the jump) Hi Timo, thanks so much for the mix and the interview time. We are really every excited to welcome you to WYS! I am too… it has been a long time since I played at fabric…. You seem to have a unique relationship with the UK, often reminiscing about your influence from British music, what are your thoughts about playing here now and the music scene in general? I recently had some really cool gigs again in the UK….of course music scene is changing, but always in an interesting way… music is a lot more diverse this days… You have many years of experience behind you with a career spanning nearly three decades, tell us a little about how this has affected your approach to work, and whether your thoughts on your work have adapted or changed at all over the years… Of course the long time in the biz has a massive influence on the things I do… most importantly I love playing and writing music and experience and explore new things, styles, music…. Collaboration has always been seen to be a key facet in your production efforts, yet as a DJ you are largely known as a sole performer, how do you feel about working with other people in a live situation? I am currently working on a new idea, but it’s a bit too early to speak about it… it’s a work in progress though! Electronic music in many ways exaggerates the relationships that an artist has within their time to technologies and surrounding cultures. When you are making music are you conscious of these interaction, and to what extent do you feel this comes across in your music and your performances, do you think about "the now"? If you are talking about all new technologies etc… I really think, it’s not important how you perform… it’s about the music and the right feeling for the crowds… and I hope, that never changes… What’s your life philosophy? My glass is half full, not half empty. What are your key tips for staying fresh in this business? I think, always keep your eyes and ears open for the changes in business, for new talents, for new and interesting sounds…. The fire still burns! What other non music passions do you have? Obviously cooking, but I think, that’s not really a secret anymore… Timo Mass – WYS! vs. Trailer Trash Promo Mix Tracklist: 1. Santos - She [R&P] 2. St. Marteen - Pony Express [R&P] 3.
