Feed Your Stereo: Exclusive First Listen Of Ben Sims - Bullet
Sitting at the top of the techno table this Saturday is one of the genres biggest exports, Ben Sims. Known as the '3 Deck Master', 'The Human Ableton' and 'The Machine', Ben is an unstoppable force on the scene currently running 2 beat heavy imprints (with a third to launch this summer) and is an unquestionably impressive talent.
As we wave goodbye to an explosive bank holiday weekend at the club, the pulsing energy of this Saturday’s techno-feast awaits and to get you in the mood we have a track from Ben Sims new album to stream until your hearts content, released on Adam Beyer's premier techno label, Drumcode later this year. Giving you a double dose of exclusive Sims goodies, we also have some fresh words from the man himself, a mini-review if you will of the tracks featured on his highly anticipated album.

Riots In London
Started out life as a dubbed out housey groove but gained some stomp (and a name) after watching a documentary featuring London riots in the 80's.
Descent
One of the first tracks made for the project which saw me get the hardware out and generally spend too much time messing about with wires.
The Snake
Definately some rave flavour in this one, it being the 20th anniversary of '91 it seemed appropriate to get some stabs in there somewhere.
Back To The Pod
a rolling housed up techno groove (not tech-house!) that reminds me of a dark loud warehouse party I went to many moons ago.
Can You Feel It?
It's impossible to co-host a monthly disco tinged radio show (Essex rascals 'way back Wednesday') without that vibe creeping into your tracks.
I Wanna Go Back (Feat Blake Baxter)
I could have made this anytime in the past 15 years really, a typical sample based 'hardgroove' track topped off with classy vocals from the prince of techno.
Bullet
A dark and heavy analogue groove cut directly from a live hardware jam that saw me breakout the step sequencer and synths.
The Afterparty
Recorded after a very long studio session this hypnotic roller is my favourite track on the album and kept me grooving till daylight.
Smoke And Mirrors
The dubby title track named after a friends description of my unconventional and apparently mysterious process of making music for the project.
The Calling
Another cut relying heavily on the space echo and dub fx, recorded after putting together a reggae podcast which clearly inspired it.
I Feel It Deep (Feat Tyree Cooper)
Obviously influenced by the sound of late 80's chicago this one, stamped with a seal of approval from a bonafide house music legend.
As If (Limited 12''+Digital Only)
Modern technology meets the machines again with this intense and repetitive workout aimed squarely at the dancefloor.
Unity (limited 12''+digital only)
The toughest peak time DJ tool out of the sessions fusing analogue synth lines with my typical 'hardgroove' beats.
Miss Out On Monday (Digital Only)
Not the first time or the last I name a track after a quote from one of my fave films, a purposely spacey and tranquil head nodder.
