We’re super happy to be able to finally announce that as part of our 15th Birthday celebrations we’ve teamed up with the rampant vinyl enthusiasts over at MasterSounds to produce a limited edition (we only made 50), fabric turntable weight. Having always prided ourselves on offering some of the world’s best DJs the world’s best equipment to perform on, we’re constantly keeping an eye out for ingenious bits of kit that help deliver better sound and MasterSounds’ hand brushed, aluminium turntable weight has been developed especially for club and home use. The weight fits perfectly over your turntable’s spindle and stabilizes the record wherever you’re playing, greatly improving not only the bass response, but the mid-range and high end frequencies too. “Turntable weights have been around in the Hi-Fi world for many moons, yet they were relatively unknown in the DJ world until I started producing mine,” offers the man behind MasterSounds, Ryan Shaw. “With these weights you simply pop them over your record - on the centre spindle - and it adds 420 grams on top of the record which significantly reduces any vibration the record makes when rotating. In turn this improves the bass and mid-range response of the record and opens up the sound stage, which gives greater linearity the sound. The highs sound sweeter too when listening in a Hi-Fi environment.” “When DJing they hugely improve control of the vinyl as they reduce needle skip and users are able to control their vinyl better as everything feels firmer in the mix,” Shaw continues. “Scratching records isn't a problem either.
