Joe Armon-Jones & Maxwell Owin release new single 'Lost In The Function' ahead of fabric show on 9th June

The duo celebrate the release of their forthcoming album 'Archetype' right here at the club with a live band and DJ sets.

Joe Armon-Jones & Maxwell Owin have today (31st May 2023) released a brand new single 'Lost In The Function', taken from their forthcoming album Aquarii out on 9th June. The single release comes ahead of their fabric show – also on release day, 9th June – where the pair will takeover FABRICLIVE with a live band show and performance of the project, and a subsequent evening of DJ sets.

The album itself sees these two core figures in the South London scene come together for a collaborative release scoping improvisational jazz, dark garage, rough n ready grime, special guest bars, and a distinctly south-of-the-river stamp.Album guests include vocalists such as Lex Amor, Fatima and Rocks FOE, while instrumental collaborators include Shabaka Hutchings and Mala.

Of the album’s title track Joe Armon-Jones labels ‘Archetype’ “the prototype, the original that is now imitated. This was the inspirational theme running through this whole album process: drawing from older music that we consider to be the Archetype of what we do now, in order to move our sound forward.”

Book tickets for the album launch show below, also featuring: Fatima, James Mollison, Lex Amor, Luke Wynter, Marysia Osu, O the Ghost, Rocks FOE, YUIS and DJ sets from, Errol (Touching Bass), Maxwell Owin, Anja Ngozi B2B Shauwdii and Yaw Evans.
