Audio: Total Science - FABRICLIVE x Ram x C.I.A. Mix
Total Science’s label, C.I.A. isn’t named after a mysterious government agency; it’s an acronym of Computer Intergrated Audio, a term that pretty perfectly sums up the symbiosis of man and machine that goes into making their music. What started out of necessity back in 1996, an outlet for Total Science (the collective moniker of Q Project and Spinback) to release their own increasing catalogue of music along with that of likeminded artists has blossomed into a web like discography of releases and sub labels. C.I.A. has housed releases from drum & bass artists like Zero T, Lenzman, Bungle and Gridlock while the four sub labels (C.I.A. Deep Kutz, Advance//d, Skindeep and Fix) have been home to artists like Commix, Break, Nymfo and Calibre.
Basically the label’s talons run deep into the veins of modern drum & bass and that’s almost undoubtedly one of the main reasons that they’re hosting Room Three at the next Ram Records takeover here in Farringdon on Friday 10th August. Joined by Zero T, Spirit, Mutated Forms, Krakota and Unknown Error, Total Science will provide a selection that draws on the depth of their ongoing contribution to the genre and the artform.
Ahead of the event they put together a thirty minute mix that’ll help both start your Monday and give you an idea of the type of vibe they’ll be sculpting at the next Ram.
